An extraordinary encounter between two icons of contemporary art and communication, Andy Warhol and Banksy, at the magnificent Swabian Castle in Barletta, from 19 July to 29 November 2026.
More than 100 works are on display, drawn from renowned private collections and prestigious art galleries. Highlights include Warhol’s iconic Marilyn Monroe, created following the actress’s death in 1962, alongside Banksy’s irreverent and provocative portrayal of Queen Victoria.
Warhol’s celebrated portraits of Mick Jagger, Keith Haring, Mao and Kennedy are presented in dialogue with Banksy’s world-famous Girl with Balloon.
The exhibition also showcases Banksy’s prolific artistic output, including an example from his Soup series, which reinterprets one of Warhol’s most iconic subjects, as well as Warhol’s famous self-portraits on T-shirts.
Two visionary artists who have mastered the powerful mix of celebrity, satire and voyeurism, turning their art into a cultural phenomenon and creating an extraordinary impact on the contemporary art world.
